Dulcie Hill Black, 78, of Old U.S. Highway 64 West, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reeds United Methodist Church, where she was the oldest living member, by the Revs. Gary Foster and Jim Martin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Black was born June 14, 1918, in Davidson County to Ed Hill and Lizzie Josephine Myers Hill. She was a retired employee of Lexington Shirt Factory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Bonnie Black, in 1987, and by two brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Black and his wife, Sue, and Don Black and his wife, Lynn, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Scott Black and his wife, Sharee, Tommy Black, David Black and Margie Black, all of Lexington, and Keith Black and his wife, Amanda, of Raleigh; and six great-grandchildren.
Family members will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at their respective homes.
