Dwight Leonard

James Dwight Leonard, 86, of Lake Leonard Road, died Monday, February 01, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Dwight Leonard Jr.; and his first wife, Betty Biesecker Leonard. Mr. Leonard was born October 27, 1929, in Davidson County, to William Paul Leonard and Grace Leonard Leonard. He was retired from Levi Strauss & Co. Surviving are his loving wife, Denise Dix Leonard of the home; daughter, Paula Murphy and husband Larry of Davidson; three grandchildren, Chris Poole, Jason Leonard, and Jeremy Leonard; great-grandchildren, Austin Poole (McKena Thomas), Taylor Poole, and Gracie Nelson; mother-in-law, Betty Dix; brother-in-law, Tommy Dix (Leslie); nephews, Thom Dix (Charlene), Ned Dix (Shuj); and grand nephews, Thomas Dix and Hank Dix.
