Earl Dennis Williams, Jr., 87, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 07, 2020 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11 am with Pastor David Wooten officiating. The graveside service will be held in the Armstrong Cemetery in Gastonia at 2 pm following the service with Pastor Leo Kuykendall officiating.
No formal visitation will be held.
Mr. Williams was born in McDowell County on December 11, 1932 to Earl Dennis Williams, Sr. and Ruth Self Williams. He was a retired master mechanic, having worked for Alcoa Aluminum Company and was a member and deacon at Lakeview Baptist Church. Mr. Williams proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Meeks Williams; two sons, Tim Allen Williams and Richard Williams; a daughter, Karen Williams; a step-son, Walter “Doug” Williams; and two brothers, Joe Williams and James “Slug” Williams.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Evelyn Louise Andrews Williams of the home; two sons, Jonathan Williams (Amy) of Linwood and Earl “Dennis” Williams, III (Analiza) of the Philippines; two daughters, Carol Perdue (Bobby) of Linwood and Vicky Quaile of Dallas; a brother, Bill Williams (Andrea) of VA; twenty grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
