Earle A. Elliott, 92, son of the late Elma and William W. Davis of Lexington, passed awaypeacefully on November 20, 2017 at the Overlook Nursing Center in Pascoag, RI. A memorial service conducted by Rev. Robbie Stephens will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 13th at theDavidson Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will be at Churchland Baptist ChurchCemetery. There will be a reception lunch for family and friends at the church fellowship hallimmediately following.He was born in Richmond, VA on June 29, 1925 and is survived by his four children, KeithElliott of Thompson, CT; Laura VanDaniker (George) of Ellicott City, MD; Robert Elliott(Tonya) of Reston, VA; and Elizabeth Anthony of Deland, FL, six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.Earle was a veteran of WWII. He enlisted in the US Army on his 18th birthday and landed inNormandy, France in 1944 as a soldier in the 26th Infantry Division serving under GeneralGeorge S. Patton. Following the war, he attended Pace University and graduated magna cumlaude with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. His first job was as arevenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service. He obtained his law degree at St. John’s LawSchool and became a member of the New York State Bar Association.Earle lived most of his life in New York and Rhode Island. He held positions of Director ofCorporate Taxation for Martin Marietta Corp in New York City and later for Textron Corp inProvidence, RI, retiring in 1982.Earle enjoyed playing golf, tennis and chess. He was very fond of reading Shakespeare andlistening to classical music and opera. He was also a lifelong NY Yankees fan and was proud tohave been in attendance when Lou Gehrig gave his famous “Luckiest Man” farewell speech atYankee Stadium in 1939.Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
