Eddy Beck

Eddy Lynn Beck, 78 of Darr Place, Lexington, passed on March 16, 2026, at his home after declining health for several years.

A funeral service will be held at Hedrick’s Grove Church on March 18th at 2pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Foster Carney will be officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:30 until 2pm prior to the service.

Eddy was born on February 20, 1948, in Forsyth County to Cromer Edgar Beck and Lucille Black Beck. He was a member of Hedrick’s Grove Church, a deacon and member of the Men's Brotherhood. He was the owner of Neal Enterprises since 1973, and co-owner with his brother in Beck Lumber, which his father began many years ago. Eddy loved being a sawyer, looking at timber and had a great respect for land, forestry, and nature. Most of all he was a caring person with a big heart. Preceding him in death were his parents; father and mother-in-law, Earnest and Marie Hanes; brother-in-law Dale Sink and brother and sister-in-law Carolyn Bennett, Gene Hall, Jim Perkins, and a niece Natalie Adkins.

He truly loved and cared for his family and is survived by his wife of 59 years Nell Hanes Beck; son Michael, daughter-in-law Lori Herndon Beck, and special granddaughter Caroline Elizabeth Beck; brother and sister Cromer Lee Beck and Lucy (Teeny) Sink; sisters-in-law Betty Hall, Shirley Perkins, Donna Chapman (Roy), Kathy Adkins (Steve); special family friend Alecisha Smith; the Herndon family from Georgia; special nieces and nephews and loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hedrick’s Grove Church, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington, NC 27292 or Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

A special thank you to his sister, Lucy (Teeny) Sink and brother Cromer Lee Beck for all their love and caring.

The family is so grateful for the caring and loving hands from the precious staff at Hospice of the Piedmont.
