Edgar Tysinger, 85, of Lexington, died Sunday, May 7 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a six and half year courageous battle with lung cancer and kidney failure.   As per Mr. Tysinger’s wishes, a private service will be held.   Edgar was born in Davidson County to Emma Bailey Tysinger Thomason and Lindsay Edard Thomason.  He proudly served in the US Army National Guard as a rocket launcher; was a former firefighter for Pilot Fire Department.  He was the co-owner of Tysinger’s Garage and a charter member of Leonard Road Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and sang in the choir.  His parents, four brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sue Rich Tysinger of the home; his daughter, Cathy T. Crawford; his son in law, Danny Crawford; his brother, Albert Tysinger and wife, Martha; and his sister, Louise T. Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association, PO Box 7000, Albert Lea, MN 56007-8001 or the National Kidney Foundation, 4701 Hedgemore Drive Suite 810, Charlotte, NC 28209.
