Edith Beck

Edith Louise Greer Beck, 87, of Old U.S. Highway 64 East, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at her home. A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Hedrick's Grove Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. William Sowers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Beck was born in Davidson County on April 10, 1927, to Isaac Burch Greer and Maie Taylor Greer. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joe Lee Beck, on March 19, 2013; sisters Roxie Greer Floyd, Maggie Greer Smith, Josie Leonard, Latiffa Greer Pierce and Bertie Greer; and brothers Carl Greer and Kiff Greer. Surviving are her son, Joey Greer Beck, and wife Anita of Lexington and grandson Cody Huston Beck. Memorials may be directed to Hedrick's Grove Reformed UCC, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
