Edith Grey "Shorty" Fritts Thomason

Edith Grey “Shorty” Fritts Thomason died peacefully at her home with her family at her side, on Thursday February 17, 2022.  She was 85 years old.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Davidson County May 10, 1936, to David Thomas “DT” Fritts Jr. and Edith Marie Conrad Fritts.  She and her late husband were co-owners of Acme Plumbing & Heating Company in Lexington, where they worked together for many years.  She was a strong Christian, and a dedicated member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  She was a kind listener and nurturing confidant to many who needed a shoulder.  Mrs. Thomason was a loving mother, grandmother, and now a great-grandmother, whose memory will be held dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bradley Thomason Jr; her brothers, Glenn Conrad Fritts, and David Thomas Fritts III; her sister, Mary Ann Fritts; and a granddaughter, Beth Marie Burchette.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Robert Bradley Thomason III (Kandace) of Winston-Salem, Marie Annette Burchette (Robert), Arnold Gray Thomason, and Angie Leigh Pierce (Eddie) all of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Moriah Thomason (Beau), Evan Bradley Thomason (Kendall), Kelly Michelle Baldwin (Andrew), Emily Grace Burchette, Jake Arnold Thomason, Hannah Grey Fox (Nate), James Thomas Tilley, Amber Leigh Pierce, and Marie Ann Pierce; and one great-grandchild, Ava Grey Fox.

A small service will be held for family and close friends at 2 pm on Saturday February 26, 2022, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wesley Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
