Edith Jones King

Edith Jones King, age 84, of Gus Hill Road, Clemmons passed away at her residence Tuesday evening January 22, 2013. A funeral service will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday January 25, 2013 in the chapel of Davidson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Henry King. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Jones Cemetery in Newland, N.C. The family will see friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. Edith was born April 13, 1928 in Avery County to, Raymond J. Jones and Sally Hinkle Jones. She was retired after 20 years from Young-Hinkle Furniture, and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell King, five brothers and six sisters. She is survived by sons, Jimmy King and wife Patsy of the home and Ray King and wife Diane of Thomasville; brother, Elmer Jones of Churchland; sister, Mrs. Thelma Freeman of Seattle, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
