Edith Harrison Thomason

Edith Harrison Thomason, age 89 of Durham, formerly of Clearview Street, Lexington passed away Saturday evening at Carolina Point in Durham. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday (October 29, 2014) in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Rev. Jeff McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow at Cid United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 Wednesday prior to the service. Edith was born in Davidson County, June 6, 1925 to Shelly and Bertha Grubb Harrison. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Foy Thomason and her son Jim E. Thomason. Edith is survived by her daughter, Susan Thomason Shoaf (Clark) of Durham; three grandchildren, Alan Thomason of Cary, NC; Eric Thomason (Kelli) of Independence, KY and Cameron Shoaf of Durham; three great-grandchildren, James, Sean and Caroline Thomason; daughter-in-law; Janet Thomason of Madison, TN; sisters, Linda Smith (Hugh) and Phyllis Cockerham (Donald) all of Lexington; brother, Robert Harrison (Jeannie) of Lexington.
