Edith Fansler Wagner

Edith Lillian Fansler Wagner, 90, of Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation, formerly of Ridge Road, passed away Friday afternoon, April 13, 2012, at Abbotts Creek after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Bethesda United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dennis Marshall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Bethesda United Methodist Church, and other times at the home of her daughter, Becky Harvey, 789 Bud Sink Road, Lexington. Edith was born May 28, 1921, in Stokes County to John Henry and Laura Briggs Fansler. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harrison Fletcher Wagner, on Nov. 14, 2003; her daughter, Edith Lorraine Harrison; her son-in-law, Jack Harrison; her parents; and her sister, Callie Everhart. Surviving are sons, William Harrison Wagner (Kay) of Welcome and John David Wagner (Barbara) of Asheboro; daughters, Mary Ellen Snow (Moyer) of Advance and Becky Lynn Harvey (Danny) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jennifer Harrison Dowe (Bob), Jay Harrison (Tammy), Jodi Harrison Hughes (Rich), Jeremy Harrison, Jerald Harrison (Jodi), Lyle Wagner (Jeannie), Stacy Snow Rega, Heather Snow Crawford (John), Joseph Harvey (Colleen) and Kelly Harvey Everhart (David); and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295. Special thanks to the staff of Abbotts Creek for the loving care given to our mother during her stay. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
