Edna Benjamin

Edna Benjamin (nee Schoonejongen) died in Chesapeake, Virginia on March 6, 2024, at the age of 102.

Mrs. Benjamin was born in New Jersey on November 9, 1921. A New Jersey native, she moved to Lexington,   NC to follow her son after his retirement. In 2021, she moved to Chesapeake, VA to be with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Benjamin is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Schoonejongen; her three husbands, John Van Hevelingen, Arnold Montecuollo, and Vincent Benjamin; and her two children, Craig Van Hevelingen and Nancy Van Hevelingen.

Mrs. Benjamin is survived by her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Van Hevelingen; her grandchildren, Steven Van Hevelingen (Martie), Amy Van Hevelingen (Kevin Wall), Ed Moore (Penny), and Tim Moore (Susan). She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

The family will see friends, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10 am at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, NC.,  with a 11:00 am graveside service at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington, NC. With Pastor Jon Martin conducting the Service.
