Edna Essick

Edna Lois Pickett Essick, 94, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Welcome Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Blair officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Essick was born in Davidson County on December 8, 1925 to A.S. Pickett and Mary Hill Pickett. She was retired from Duracell and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Welcome. Mrs. Essick was a loving mother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie Gilmer Essick; three brothers, Frank Pickett, Ray Pickett, and Olin Pickett; and three sisters, Ethel Freedle, Ruth Hanes, and Dorothy Essick.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Sue Essick of the home; a adopted granddaughter, Pamela Forrest (Alan) of Lexington; three adopted great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Clara, and Kyle; three adopted great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Avalei, and Chase; and a host of nieces and nephews.
