It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna Mozelle Koontz, 94, who peacefully departed this life on August 20, 2025, in Lexington, North Carolina. Born on November 17, 1930, in North Carolina, Edna lived a life filled with devotion, love, and unwavering faith.

Edna was a woman of remarkable character, known for her faithfulness, generosity, and down-to-earth nature. Her caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy. As a devoted homemaker, Edna dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. Edna cherished her family and found immense happiness in their company. Her home was a gathering place, filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of delicious meals prepared with care.

Edna's faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of Center Church of Welcome, she found strength, solace, and community in her religious beliefs. She was a woman of deep conviction, and her faith guided her actions and shaped her interactions with others.

Edna leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her beloved son, Alen Koontz (Kim), and her loving grandchildren: Adam Koontz (Jennifer), Jeremy Koontz (Ashley), Jaime Burgess (Wesley), Kara Beck, Jordon Koontz (Katie), and Brandon Beck (Lauren), and cherished great-grandchildren: Baylei, Clayton, Karsyn, Khloei, Daulton, Liam, Anistyn, Harper, and Porter.

Edna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Stowe Koontz, son Donald Koontz, daughter Sheila Smith, and her parents William Davis Walser and Clara Hobbs.

The family will gather for a visitation starting at 1 pm on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at the Center Church of Welcome, with the funeral service starting at 2 pm, and burial to follow. During this time of remembrance, the family finds comfort in the cherished memories of Edna, celebrating the life of a woman who lived fully and loved deeply.

Edna's memory will forever be etched into the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will continue to inspire and uplift all those whose lives she touched.
