Edna Brinkley Mcginn

Edna Brinkley McGinn, 96, of Lexington, passed away on January 20, 2025, at Davidson Health and Rehab.

Edna was born September 28, 1928, in Lexington, NC to Grady Lee and Geneva Brinkley. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School and spent the majority of her adult life working as a secretary at People’s Finance Company.

On April 25, 1946, she was married to her husband of 55 years, O.C. McGinn. She was a lifelong member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and served in many capacities, including president and treasurer of the Friendship Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers, Calvin Brinkley and G.L. Brinkley.

Edna was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, and NaNa. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. In her spare time she enjoyed watching all types of sports and working mind puzzles. She always saw the best in others and found gratitude in even the simplest of things. She fought the good fight of faith until the very end.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Ron McGinn (Vickie), and daughter, Missy McGinn; grandchildren, Jason Comer and Casey Comer Milstead (Billy); and great-grandchildren Sammy Comer, Riley Milstead, Addy Comer, and Conner Milstead.

The family would like to thank the staff at Davidson Health and Rehab for their care and love over the past six years. Special thanks are extended to Janet and Tammy as well as Jenny and Shaney. In addition, the family expresses their sincerest gratitude to David Hinson and family for their constant encouragement and support.

A memorial service celebrating Edna’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Foster and Rev. Mark Rachels officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am and other times at 410 Country Club Blvd. Memorials can be made to Tyro Methodist Church or Journey Church of Lexington.
