Edna Leigh Koontz Morgan

Edna Leigh Koontz Morgan, 86, of Salisbury, died Monday, September 23, 2013, at the home of her daughter on Peacock Drive, Lexington. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Sams officiating. Burial will follow at noon in National Cemetery, Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Morgan was born November 17, 1926, in Davidson County, to Emanuel Whitson Koontz and Sarah Jane Elverson Koontz. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Morgan was retired from McCanless Custom Fabric and spent her spare time with what gave her most pleasure, her beautiful garden of flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Earl “Jack” Koontz, Robert Koontz, and Walter “Abbie” Koontz; and sister, Pauline Lomax, Mildred Snider, and her infant sister, Florence Koontz. Surviving are her loving husband, Earl “Ted” Raymond Morgan of the home; daughter, Sheila Everhart of Lexington; grandson, Daniel Clontz (Lesley); great-grandson, Xander Clontz; brothers, Melvin Koontz, Gray Koontz and wife Judy; and sisters, Carole Burkhart (Gary) and Arlene Hedrick (Ernest); and close family friend of 40 years, JoAnne Rice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Teresa Horton for the loving care given to “mother” during her illness.
