Edna Gray Conrad Snyder, age 96, passed away on December 11, 2023. She was born on June 2, 1927, in Davidson County to C. Jason Conrad and Mary Lohr Conrad. Edna was a dedicated homemaker, finding fulfillment in creating a warm and loving home for her family.
A woman of faith, Edna was a cherished member of Hebron United Church of Christ, and prior to there at Konnoak Methodist Church and Christ Lutheran Church, where her spirit and kindness touched the lives of many. She found solace and strength in her faith throughout her life.
Edna faced the trials of life with resilience, having been preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jerry Crutchfield, her second husband Vernon Snyder, and her brother Raymond Conrad. Though they have left this world, their memories linger in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Edna was always generous with her time and talents, volunteering for various church activities and caring for her parents and three aunts in their final years.
She loved her cats and always had at least one during her adult life. She inherited a green thumb from her parents and grew thriving vegetables, flowers, and house plants. In her later years, she loved watching the bluebirds in her front yard as they built their nests and raised their young.
She is survived by her two devoted sons, Kerry Crutchfield (Vicki) of Clemmons, North Carolina, and Dr. David Snyder (Dr. Linda Hall) of Asheville, North Carolina. Edna was also a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Kevin, Andrew, and Jason Crutchfield, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
Visitation to celebrate Edna's life will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. A heartfelt funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lexington, North Carolina.
