Edward Darrell Burkhart Jr.

Edward Darrell Burkhart, Jr., 72 of Mocksville, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Mr. Burkhart was born on January 17, 1947 in Davidson County to Edward Darrell and Lucy Winifred Bean Burkhart.  He retired from the NC Forestry Service and was a member of Fork Baptist Church.  Mr. Burkhart served in the United States Navy and was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Martha Jean Carrick Burkhart.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Shore Burkhart, of the home; son, Edward Darrell Burkhart, III and wife, Elizabeth, of Whiteville; daughter, Jennifer Harrison and husband, Scott, of Mocksville; brother, Stewart Burkhart and wife Kay of Lexington; sisters, Camille Burkhart, Karon Morgan and husband Perry, Libby Calvert and husband, Andy, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Zachary Anthony and wife Amanda, Zoey Anthony and husband Spencer, Megan Harrison, Rebecca Harrison, Emerson Burkhart and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the NC Forestry Service.
