Edward Lee Davis

February 2, 1942 — November 16, 2021

Mr. Edward Lee Davis passed away on Tuesday morning and is now in the more immediate presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A funeral service will be 3:00 pm Saturday November 20, 2021 at Friedberg Moravian Church conducted by Revs Jim Newsome and Dan Nelson. Burial with military rites will follow in the church graveyard. The family will see friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Edward was born in East Bend, NC to the late Robert Lee Davis and Alda Wiseman Davis.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia Parks Davis.

Also surviving are a sister Betty Angell of East Bend, two brothers, Richard Davis and wife Brenda of Yadkinville, and Michael Davis and wife Peggy of East Bend.  One son, Jeffrey Lee Davis and wife Katherine, and three grandchildren, Mary Grace, Daniel Lee, and Sara Lauren of Wallburg.

Mr. Davis graduated from high school in 1960 where he was named “Mr Booneville High”.

He served six years in the US Army Reserves including serving in Vietnam with the 312th Evacuation Hospital unit from Winston-Salem in 1968-69.  He worked as a chief mechanic for RJ Reynolds for 35 years before retiring in 1995.

Mr. Davis had been an active member of Friedberg Moravian Church since 1978 and enjoyed all aspects of church life.  He also enjoyed working with electronics, music, reading, and most sports including playing golf, for as long as his health would allow.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
