Edward Willis Goodman

Edward Willis Goodman, 77, of Williams Street, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Lexington Health Care. The funeral will be at 7:30 tonight at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church by the Revs. Darrell Cartrette and Doug McGee. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church cemetery. Mr. Goodman was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Forsyth County to Roy Walter Goodman and Sallie Sparks Goodman. He retired from RJR and served his country in the Army in Korea. His first wife, Dorothy Ratts Goodman, preceded him in death on Aug. 16, 2000. Surviving are his wife, Betty Ruth Peele Goodman of the home; his stepdaughter, Sherry Rouse of Lexington; and his stepson, Philip Black and his wife, Vicki, of Franklinville. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 this evening at the church, before the service, and other times at the home.
