Edward Lewis Hethcox, 83 of Clemmons passed away on December 3, 2008. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Jim Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hethcox was born in Thomasville on December 11, 1924. Pop, as he was known by those who were close to him, was veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a welder by trade. He served in World War II in the South Pacific on Guadalcanal. Ed was an avid golfer, animal lover and a fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Whitaker Hethcox of the home; one
daughter, Ann Thompson Everidge of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Amy Alcon Lane of Greensboro, William Anthony Alcon of Concord, David Corbett Everidge of East Bend; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by countless relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
