Edward Russell McBride, 80, of Grayson Creek passed away Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014, at Lexington Medical Center.
A graveside service with military graveside rites presented by Davidson County Honor Guard will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at National Cemetery, Salisbury, with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating.
Mr. McBride was born December 8, 1933, in Richmond, Va., to Robert Lee McBride and Lovie McBride. He was a fabricator for Salem Steel; a Mason at Lexington Memorial Lodge 473; and had served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Bishop McBride; daughter, Lisa Milton; four brothers, James Willard McBride, Curtis Lee “Spanky” McBride, Gene McBride, and Sherwood McBride; and four sisters, Clara Mae Thomas, Betty Ann McBride, Evelyn Ciaffetelli, and Katie Ratcliff.
Surviving are son, Greg McBride and wife, Cathy of Winston-Salem; son-in-law, Dane Milton; grandchildren, Stacey McBride Crouse and Cleve, and Chanel McBride; one great-grandchild, Mason Crouse; and sisters, Fay Conrad of Thomasville and Carolyn Dodson of Asheboro.
