Edward Wesley Mcbride

June 20, 1925 — January 13, 2006

Edward Wesley McBride, 81, of Sundial Drive, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after an illness of six weeks. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Goode. Burial will follow in Ketners Chapel Cemetery on Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem. Mr. McBride was born June 20, 1925, in Forsyth County to Newton Sylvianus McBride Sr. and Maddie Pitts McBride. He was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, a member of Faith of God Ministries in Walkertown and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Ealese Dorsett. Surviving are one son, Tim McBride of Lexington; one daughter, Debbie Matthews and her husband, John, of East Bend; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harris Wyatt McBride of Winston-Salem and N.S. McBride Jr. of Kernersville; and a special friend, Gladys McBride of East Bend. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
