Edwin Earl Grimsley

Edwin (Boody) Earl Grimsley age 77 of Union Grove Road, died Thursday October 16, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Home in Winston Salem after a period of declining health. He was born February 10, 1931 in Wilson County to John J. and Flora Hardison Grimsley. He was retired from Southern Bell and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Winston Salem and a past member of the Arcadia Lions Club. Edwin served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers John and Joseph Grimsley. A graveside service will be held 11am Saturday October 18, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons by the Rev. Joe Collins with visitation after the service. Mr. Grimsley is survived by his wife Marjorie Pope Grimsley of the home; a son Eddie Grimsley and wife Christi and a daughter Shon Saunders and husband Randy both of Lexington; two brothers Donnie Grimsley of Maryland and Jimmy Grimsley and wife Barbra of Greenville, NC; two sisters Christine Hayes of Gastonia NC, and Dorothy Harrell of Wilson NC; and the apples of his eyes his granddaughters Taylor and Sydney Grimsley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC. 27127 or Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
