Edwin (Eddie) Jesse Tollie

Edwin (Eddie) Jesse Tollie, 73, of Tussey St., Lexington passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 1, 2016 at Freedom Baptist Church with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 2:00 pm Monday at the church just prior to the service and other times at the home of the daughter on Linwood Southmont Rd. Mr. Tollie was born July 8, 1943 in Swain County to Jesse Tollie and Edna Mathis Tollie. He was retired from Stanly Furniture. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Hodgson Tollie, March 15, 2003, two brothers, Larry Tollie, and James Tollie. Surviving is a son, Scott Tollie (Renee) of Lexington; five daughters, Jessica Younts (Stevie), Stacie Tollie (Robert Everhart), Dianne Bell all of Lexington, Janice Tyo (Scott) of Gibsonville, Debbie Johnson of Summerville; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; five brothers, Fred Tollie (Helen), Richard Tollie (Drema), Clifford Tollie (Lori), Kenny Tollie (Luanne), all of Lexington, Tony Tollie (Kathy) of Welcome; and two sisters, Gearleen Brogdon (Johnny), Joyce Everhart all of Lexington.
