Edwin (Boody) Earl Grimsley, age 77, of Union Grove Road, died Thursday October 16, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Home in Winston Salem after a period of declining health.
A Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons by the Rev. Joe Collins with visitation after the service.
He was born February 10, 1931 in Wilson County to John J. and Flora Hardison Grimsley. He was retired from Southern Bell and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Winston Salem and a past member of the Arcadia Lions Club. Edwin served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers John and Joseph Grimsley.
Mr. Grimsley is survived by his wife, Marjorie Pope Grimsley of the home; a son, Eddie Grimsley and wife, Christi and a daughter, Shon Saunders and husband, Randy both of Lexington; two brothers, Donnie Grimsley of Maryland and Jimmy Grimsley and wife, Barbra of Greenville, NC; two sisters, Christine Hayes of Gastonia NC, and Dorothy Harrell of Wilson NC; and the apples of his eyes, his granddaughters, Taylor and Sydney Grimsley.
