Effie Clodfelter Burkhart

Effie Clodfelter Burkhart, 89, of E. Holly Grove Road, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Thomasville Medical Center after one week of serious illness. The funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday, May 18, 2012, at Holly Grove Lutheran Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. John Mocko officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Burkhart was born April 9, 1923, in Davidson County, to Ada Clodfelter. She was retired owner of Burkharts Restaurant and had also worked at Thomas Company. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Deal Burkhart, who died in 1985; brother, James Clodfelter; and sister, Lilly Bailey. Surviving are daughter, Paula Burkhart Hedrick and husband, Gary, of Lexington; grandchildren, Tina Hedrick Heitman and husband, Eddie, and Jonathan Hedrick and wife, Tina; great-grandchildren, Ty and Isabel Heitman and Hunter and Makenna Hedrick; brother, Cope Woodle of Thomasville; and sisters, Rosa Hughes, Clara Martin, and Emma Asbill, all of Thomasville.
