Eileen Yvonne Chandler Harris

Eileen Yvonne Chandler Harris, age 83 of Sunnyside Drive, Lexington entered into eternal rest Wednesday night September 16, 2015 at her home, after a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday September 24, 2015 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be at a later date. Eileen was born in Kettering, England on January 21, 1932 to Richard and Maude Dunmoor Chandler. She married James Harris on May 20, 1953 and came to the United States in January 1954. Eileen began her new life as a homemaker and mother, later being employed with Manhattan Shirt Company and as a CNA with Golden Age Nursing Home and after many years of devoted service, she retired in 1993. She was dedicated to her family, helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Brandi, Roxanne and John; brothers, Pete, Leslie and Derrick Chandler; sisters, Margaret and Doris. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, James Harris of the home; sons, Richard and wife Doretta, Steven and wife Joan and David and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Bryon Heath Harris, Joshua Harris, Kathryn Harris, and Eric Harris; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Harris and Bethany Harris.
