Elaine Edmonds Hemric

Elaine Inez Edmonds Hemric, 82, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, October 17, 2025. Elaine was born on July 15, 1943, in Surry County to the late Floyd Oscar Edmonds and Lela Mae Marion Edmonds.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She cherished time spent with her daughters and grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. She loved gardening, traveling, and a good piece of pie with a scoop of ice cream. We loved her passion for her friends and family and that infectious smile. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Denise Hemric Newsome and Michelle Hemric, and two beloved grandchildren, Tyler Cameron Newsome and Taylor Caroline Newsome, and sister-in-law Pat Edmonds.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Dean Hemric; four brothers, Arthur, Arnold, Foy, and Hugh Edmonds; and three sisters, Esther Edmonds, Edith Brown, and Faye Horne.

A celebration of life to honor Elaine will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Hartzog officiating, at Davidson Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, with visitation beginning one hour prior at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Dobson, North Carolina.

The family of Elaine would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Davidson County for their compassionate care and support. A special thanks to Carol, Jessy, Regina, and Charity for their kindness and dedication over these last few months.
