Elizabeth "Betty" Nolan Hayes

Elizabeth “Betty” Nolan Hayes, 81, of Welcome went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 15, 2021 in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating.

Mrs. Hayes was born on August 1, 1939 in Guilford County to Charlie Claybrook Nolan and Eliza McLaurin Nolan. She was a retired teacher, having worked in the North Davidson School District for over fifty years and volunteered at North Middle until her passing. Mrs. Hayes also previously worked as a Registered Nurse in the Forsyth Memorial Hospital ER.  She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and was a dedicated member of the Lions Club for over twenty five years. Mrs. Hayes was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie C. Nolan, Jr.; and two step-children, Larry Hayes and Cathy Gough Caldwell.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of forty nine and eight months, Bruce James Hayes of Welcome; her children, Garrick “Brad” Davis of Welcome and Trina Lynne McKechnie (Steve) of Verrado, AZ; two step-sons, Jeff and Zac Hayes; a sister, Marion Nolan O’Quinn (Byron) of Fuquay Varina; and three grandchildren, Eliza Davis Haynes (Logan), Summer McKechnie Boyce (Chance), and Davis McKechnie.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to North Davidson Middle School at 333 Critcher Dr, Lexington, NC 27295.
