Elizabeth Diane Everhart

June 13, 1955 — December 6, 2023

Elizabeth “Libby” Everhart, age 68, of Midway, passed away on Wednesday, December 6 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a long health battle.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 11 am at Midway Church with Reverend John Woods and Pastor Gary Myers officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 am at Midway Church immediately preceding the memorial service.

Libby was born on June 13, 1955, in Forsyth County to Jack Alvin Everhart and Janet Jones Everhart. She married the love of her life, Thomas Allen Everhart, on May 13, 1972, and they built a loving home and family together until his death in 2013. She missed him dearly every single day since then. Libby loved her children well but her 3 grandsons were her life. She loved to garden and raise peonies and irises. Libby’s other passion was the beach. She adored her time there with family and dear friends; people watching and hunting for shark’s teeth.

Libby was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Thomas Allen Everhart, her parents Jack Alvin Everhart and Janet Marie Jones, and niece, Jeanann Myers.

She is survived by her children Jason Everhart (Heather) of Easley, SC and Beth Hair (D.G.) of Midway, NC; grandsons, Jack Thomas Everhart, Daniel Hair, and Jacob Hair; sister, Susan Everhart, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Libby suffered from kidney disease for many years. She ultimately ended up getting 2 kidney transplants that gave her more precious time with her family. Memorials can be made to The American Kidney Fund at kidneyfund.org.

The staff at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is honored to be serving the Everhart family during this difficult time.
