Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. Elizabeth Ann King passed peacefully into the arms of God Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at the age of 76, with her cherished family and friends by her side. Born on May 3rd,1948, Elizabeth lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and love, profoundly touching the hearts of everyone she met. Known to many as "Liz", her most cherished title was Mimi, given to her by her grandchildren.
Residing in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Liz was known for her vibrant spirit and the lasting relationships she formed with family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James Luther King Jr., her parents, Ernest and Georgie Graham, her treasured grandparents Charlie and Mary Willard, who raised her as their own; and her grandson Brandon Hepler.
Liz leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her daughter Lori Lynch and husband Bryan of Winston-Salem; brothers Joel Little and Donnie Little of Nashville, Tennessee; and half-sister Lisa Disher, also of Winston-Salem. She was a proud grandmother to four, Kayla Mankins and husband Josh, Brianna Allen and husband Josh, and Ethan Lynch. Elizabeth was further blessed with four great-grandchildren: Zoey, Hayden, Ryker, and Myla. Liz is also survived by two very special friends who were considered family, Stephanie Leichman and Darlene McKinney, who enriched her life enormously with their love.
Liz found joy in cooking and baking for family and friends. Her passions included gardening, dancing, and singing. She spent many years volunteering for WSFC schools.
A private celebration of Liz's life will be held in her honor, reflecting the personal and intimate connections she cherished. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Liz's memory to the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care, located at 3333 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. This gesture is a tribute to the compassionate care she received in her final days.
Elizabeth Ann King's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace.
