Elizabeth "Libby" Bond Shoaf

May 22, 1933 — January 2, 2021

Elizabeth (Libby) Bond Shoaf of Midway, NC, our sweet, beloved mother, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior in the early evening of January 2, 2021, surrounded with the love and care of her family.

She was born on May 22, 1933, in Macon, GA, as the only girl to four brothers, thereby bestowed with the fond nickname of 'Sister'. She was married to Bill Bond from Fries, VA, until his passing in 1982.

During her time on this earth, she enjoyed a variety of interests, such as gardening and arranging flowers, bird watching/feeding, canning and freezing the bounty of our summer garden, and sewing and homemaking many things for her four children. But, most of all, she loved Jesus, being a Christian, and going to church. She instilled the love of God and the importance of worship in us from the very beginning.

Libby was wholeheartedly loved and will be dearly missed by all her children: Vickie Bond of Phoenix, AZ, Roxie Bond of Midway, NC, John Bond of Welcome, NC, and predeceased by her youngest daughter, Rosalie Bond Strickland (and son-in-law, Leon Strickland, deceased) of Walnut Cove, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Austen Peters (and wife, Mary Ann) of Lutz, FL, Alex Bond of Winston-Salem, NC, and Ashley Strickland of Midway, NC, along with her sole surviving brother, Emmett Land (and wife, Barbara), of Nashville, NC. Additionally, she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews residing in Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia, whom she loved and cherished, as well as many more beloved family members she will meet again in heaven.

At the family's request, no formal services will be held in lieu of current social protocol. If desired, any donations may be forwarded to Hospice of Davidson County in Lexington, NC. We greatly appreciate all their efforts and kindness in caring for our dear, sweet mother during the past year.

Rest in peace with Jesus, Mom, where we will see you again in heaven one day. We love you to the moon and back!
