Elizabeth McConnell

Elizabeth “Jean” McConnell, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2025, after a period of illness. Jean was born on October 22, 1956, and lived a life marked by love, resilience, and an unmistakable spirit.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lockie Gardner Henson; stepfather, George Albert Henson; son, Gary Dean Henson; sister, Shirley Gardner Soles; and brother, Larry Dean Gardner.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband, Horace Wayne Overby; sisters Nina Sue Abernathy and Mary Henson Equils (Les); and a loving extended family who will cherish her memory deeply.

Jean’s vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. She had a spirit unmatched, finding joy in fishing, music, dancing, and the company of her beloved dogs. Her warmth and love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with family and friends.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to honor and remember her extraordinary life.
