Elizabeth Snyder Shoaf

Elizabeth Snyder Shoaf, 91, of Fairview Drive, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Health - Lexington Medical Center, after declining health of several years. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2012, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Lee Jessup officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Shoaf was born August 1, 1920, in Davidson County, to Ray Snyder and Vann Michael Snyder. She was a graduate of Linwood High School . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, John Shoaf; and daughter, Betsy Shoaf. Surviving is a son, Robert Shoaf Jr. of Lexington; daughter, Sally Kernstine and husband, Kim, of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Holland Shoaf, Christine Chapman, Holly Gilbert, Gina Kernstine, Jennifer Turlington, Stephanie Biesecker, Reynolds Shoaf, Daniel Travis, and Kristi Thompson; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews including a special niece, Margaret Cox Trexler.
