Elizabeth Simerson

Elizabeth (Tootie) Young Simerson, 93, of Lexington, passed away May 8, 2024, at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday May 12, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Linwood Buford Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at funeral home, and burial will follow in the Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Simerson was born December 19, 1930, in Davidson County, to Peter Bolen Young and Ethel Justice Young. Elizabeth was a devoted member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the church family. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, who will be missed by all. She loved to go shopping, spend time gardening, reading, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, George Chadwell “Chad” Simerson who died July 2, 2009, sons, Ricky Lane Simerson, and Randy Joe Simerson.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Gary Simerson, and wife Angie, of Linwood; grandchildren, Wayne Simerson, Shaylyn Floyd, Erica Nicole Smith, Matthew Simerson, Adam Simerson, also surviving are 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, and her daughter in law, Ann Simerson of Panama City Beach, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
