Elizabeth “Lib” Byrd Zimmerman Sink, 94, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at her home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at First Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Elizabeth Horton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Sink was born in Davidson County on July 12, 1927, to Ray Zimmerman and Gladys Byrd Zimmerman. She was a graduate of Meredith College with a BA degree in voice and retired from North Davidson Junior High in 1987, having worked over thirty years in the Davidson County School System. Mrs. Sink was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, where she served in many capacities and was in the Church Choir since 1950. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Boyce Sink.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Irvin Sink (Doris), Ron Sink (Pam), and Cynthia Cooper (Mark); a sister, Rachel Z. Nifong; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
