Ella Yountz Byerly

Ella Yountz Byerly, 89, of Clemmons went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 17, 2007. She retired from Hanes Knitting and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was born on December 8, 1917 in Davidson County to Gurney and Mary Hoffman Yountz. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at Union Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Ken Harris and Dr. Harold Fletcher will conduct the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Byerly was preceded in death by her husband Clifford L. Byerly, two brothers Robert Yountz and Thelmous Yountz. She is survived by her daughter Joanne B. Sweatt and husband Bobby R. Sweatt, two sisters Delia Y. Hege and Pauline Y. Young and husband Clyde Young Jr., two granddaughters Tamara S. Reavis and Angela R. Sweatt. Mrs. Byerly loved to bake for others, and working in the yard with her beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful mother and a very special grandmother. She will be missed by all those who’s lives she touched. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, November 19th, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Davidson County, and to a special care giver, Mary Templeton.
