Ella Mae Bost Freeman, 90, of Oak Park Retirement, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Howard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Freeman was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Rowan County, to Jacob Monroe Bost and Dewey Elizabeth Harris Bost. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eartle Lee Freeman; son, Thomas Eartle Freeman; and brother, Kenneth Melvin Bost. Surviving are daughters, Linda F. Swicegood (Vincent) of Lexington; Ella Jean Belden of Springfield, Ill.; and Judy F. Shoaf (Clay) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Marie Keough (Brian) of Concord; Ricki Lynn Everhart (Shane) of Lexington; Judy Riley (Billy) of Illinois; Trudy Bernstien (Mike) and Tara Thorn (Brian) both of Illinois; John Lee of Pennsylvania; and Melissa Dawn; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center, Unit A, 250 Hospital Drive, Lexington, NC 27292; or St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
