Ella Byerly Hanes

Ella Byerly Hanes, age 87, of Welcome, Arcadia Road, passed away early Thursday morning at her residence after a serious illness of six weeks. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating and burial will follow in Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hanes was born June 28, 1921 in Davidson County to Felix and Myrtle Byerly and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lacy Hanes in 1994 and two daughters Linda Sullivan and Betty Jean Hanes. Ella is survived by a son, Lacy Franklin Hanes Jr. and wife, Emma; daughter, Becky Hill and husband, David both of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Richard Sink, Ronda Swaim, Staci Hanes, Jefferey Hill, Christopher Hill, Tabitha Kirkland, and Randi Leonard: and a great-granddaughter, Miranda Swaim; and two sisters, Sarah Snyder and Dorothy Walser, both of Lexington. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
