Ella Gray Hester Huffman, 82, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2024.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held at Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead, NC, at 1 pm on July 27, 2024.

Ella was born on July 15, 1941, in Clarkton, NC, to the late Bryan Berne Hester and Ila Hayes Hester. She built a successful career as a bookkeeper and was the proud owner and operator of Huffman's Accounting in Wilmington, NC, where she dedicated her professional life to helping others manage their finances. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Eugene Huffman, and her siblings, Ralph Hester, Lucy Daughtry, Doris McCall, Edith Clark, David Hester, and Currie Hester.

Ella's memory will be cherished by her loving daughter, Christie Huffman Bennett (Michael), and her step-daughter, Ellen Huffman-Zechman. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Timothy Arehart (Shannon), Reese Arehart (Nina), Peyton Allen (Collin), Ryan Jones, Zachary Zechman, Zane Zechman, and Zebulun Zechman. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Chandler Allen, Parker Allen, and Charlotte Arehart. Ella leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Ella's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her work, and her community. Her warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
