Ella Mae Gentle Ireland, 82, of Lexington went to be with her Lord September 4, 2013. Visitation will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St. Lexington, NC from 6-8PM, Friday September 6, 2013. Funeral services will be at Lexington Church of God 810 W 4th Ave, Lexington, NC 27292 at 4:00PM Saturday September 7, 2013 and officiated by Pastor Rodney Merrill and Pastor Tim Carter. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family. At other times family will receive friends at her daughter’s home located 4743 Old US Highway 52 Lexington, NC. Ella was born in Mocksville to John and Lessie Gentle on May 25. 1931. She retired from Welcome Elementary School. She was a member of the Lexington Church of God and was an active member of her Sunday school class. Her hobbies were spending time with her family and friends, quilting, crocheting, cooking, baking and seeing to the need of others. Ella was preceded in death by her husband James Harding Ireland, her parents John and Lessie; brothers Walter, Albert and Wayne Gentle; sister Mary Steelman Ella is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Buddy) Moore and DeWilla (Mitchell)Bryant; grandsons Shane (Amy) Moore, Nathan (Cori)Sink and Jonathan (Kelly)Sink; Great grandchildren Peyton and Cohen Moore MacKenzie and Rylee Sink, Adi and Graci Sink and many nieces and nephews; sisters Daisy Medley and Rosalene Hall, brothers Fred (Betty)Gentle and John (Carol) Gentle and sister-in-law June Gentle of Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lexington Church of God, Lexington, NC.
