Ellen Owens Gobble

Ellen Owens Gobble, age 87 of West Fourth Avenue, Lexington passed away Tuesday night (January 18, 2011) at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at Noon, Monday (January 24, 2011) at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Kelley Groce and Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm Monday at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:00 pm Sunday. Ellen was born in Davidson County, September 28, 1923 to Frank R. Owens and Della Barnes Owens. She was a retired employee of Mid State Oil Company, member of First United Methodist Church and a life member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #98. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Albert B. Gobble of the home; one sister, Katherine Cooper and husband Grant of Lexington; Nephew, Randy Lomax and wife Tammy of Lexington; one niece, Kathy Lomax of Lexington and special friends, Tammy and Jeff Leonard of Lexington.
