Ellen Elisabeth Meachum, age 55, of Lexington, formerly of Winston Salem, passed away Thursday July 2, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington after an illness of several years.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 6, 2026, at Mt Tabor United Church of Christ with Rev. Lester E. Smith and Rev. Sonny Flowers officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Ellen was born in Davidson County on August 18, 1970, to Edward Jay "Buddy" Meachum and Dixie Ellen Andrew Meachum. She was a graduate of Central Davidson High School Class of 1988 and was a graduate of Appalachian State University Class of 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was employed as a Computer Analyst with National General Insurance and was a member of River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward "Buddy" Meachum and her sister Kathryn Meachum.

Surviving is her mother, Dixie Meachum of Lexington; her brother Jay Meachum and wife Susan, two nephews, Joey Meachum (Tabitha) and Brandon Meachum (Kayla); great nieces, Zoey and Kassandra Meachum and two great nephews, Jacob and Kai Meachum; and her best friend Stacy Rae Jones.

Memorials may be made in her memory to The River Oaks Church, Mission Team or Alzheimer’s Association.
