Ellen Smith Plummer, age 100 of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Winston Road died Saturday (4-18-2009) at Lexington Health Care. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Christ United Church of Christ with Rev. Bobby Bonds officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Plummer was born in Davidson County, October 18, 1908 to Robert P.L. Smith and Margaret Louretta Fritts Smith. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Christ United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer Sylvester Plummer in July 11, 1978, her daughter Norma Jean Thompson on April 11, 1993, three sisters, Lena Lindsey, Elvie Hartley and Carrie Wright, and three brothers, Harvey, Lee and Zander Smith.
Surviving are: three grandchildren, Danny Thompson and wife LuCinda, Kim and Kelley Thompson all of Lexington; one great-granddaughter, Amanda Thompson of Lexington and son in law Bill Thompson of Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm Monday night other times at the home Danny and LuCinda Thompson, 8 Biesecker Road, Lexington.
