Ellen Wooten Tucker age 78 of Country Lane, passed away early Thursday morning May 26 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Harris and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
Ellen was born in Yadkin County on October 4, 1932 to Miles Franklin and Maggie Heath Wooten. She retired from Sara Lee and was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two sons, Darren Tucker and wife Tina of Lexington, Barry Gray Tucker of Clemmons; one daughter, Beverly Shinault and husband Larry of Germanton; one brother Sam Wooten of Stanleyville; two sisters, Magaline Burchette of Fayetteville, Susy Setters of Elkin; three grandchildren, Larry Shinault, Jr. and wife Christy, Brandi Peoples and husband Mike, Justin Tucker and wife Jennifer; three great grandchildren, Wesley Shinault, Aby Shinault and Logan Koonts; special niece and nephew, Sandra Riggs and Steve Lane and special friends Norma and Don Gilley.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home of son Darren Tucker.
