Elmer Mike Swicegood, age 88 of South NC Highway 150, Lexington died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Smith. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Elmer was born in Davidson County May 8,1919 to Adam Cicero Swicegood and Lula Pearl Koontz Swicegood. He was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, preceded in death by his parents, his wife Birdie Hanes Swicegood on January 27, 2007, brothers, Eugene, Fate, Allen, Johnson, Fred, George and Ira Swicegood and sisters Ethel Russell and Minnie Clodfelter.
Surviving are sons, Fletcher Swicegood and wife, Kenny, Michael Swicegood and wife, Paula, and Neal Swicegood all of Lexington and Dale Swicegood and wife, Sally, of Linwood;
Daughters, Sherry Walser and husband, Ronnie, of Lexington and Luann Matthews and husband, Van, of Winston Salem; 11 Grandchildren; and sister, Mary Leigh Miller of Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Tuesday night from 6:30 until 8:30 pm and at other times at their respective homes.
