Elmer D. Trexler

Elmer D. Trexler, 91, of Richard Road, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at his home after a year of declining health. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Trexler was born June 4, 1915, in Davidson County to William W. Trexler and Mary Susan Wilson Trexler. He retired from Burlington Industries. He graduated from Welcome High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Jones Business College. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Brewer. Surviving are his wife, Irene Hamilton Trexler of the home; two sons, Roger Trexler of Lexington and David Trexler and wife, Ann, of Spring City, Tenn.; two daughters, Karen Hardin and Susan Story and her husband, David, all of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Bobby Trexler of Mocksville; and four sisters, Sadie Tutterow of Salisbury, Juanita Buchta of Midland and Mary Gray and Delores Younts, both of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 202 Centerport Drive Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409.
