Eloise Tysinger Hilliard

March 11, 1925 — January 20, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eloise Tysinger Hilliard, who left this world peacefully on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on Wednesday, March 11th, 1925, in North Carolina, Zelma was a beloved member of the Lexington, NC community.

Zelma was the cherished daughter of the late Elwood Travis Tysinger and Mildred Parker Tysinger. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cletus Leo Hilliard; six brothers, Bradley Tysinger, Travis Tysinger, Bobby Tysinger, Luther Tysinger, Johnny Tysinger and Jimmy Tysinger; and four sisters; Thelma Lee Walser, Alta Mae Frizell, Bertha Louya and JoAnn Tysinger. Zelma leaves behind her devoted children: a daughter, Linda Key (Butch) of Lexington, NC, and a son, Roger Hilliard (Patsy) of Lexington, who cherish her memory; 2 grandchildren, Justin Key (Heidi), Nathan Key (Kim),; 4 great-grandchildren, Kobe Cooper, Elizabeth Holman (Deshun), Liam Key and Lexi Key; and a special friend Donna Bivens.

Throughout her lifetime, Zelma found joy and fulfillment in her family. Although she never worked outside the home and was not involved in official organizations, her presence was a constant source of comfort and stability for her loved ones. Her gentle spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to honor Zelma's life at a funeral service held 2:00 pm Monday January 27, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Reverends Doug McGee and Keith McGee will officiate the services, celebrating the life of a beloved mother and friend.

The family will receive friends form 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service on Monday.

The family extends their gratitude to the team at Davidson Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.

Though Zelma has departed from this world, her legacy of love and kindness remains forever in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.
