Elouise Stein Arnett

Elouise Stein Arnett, age 97, of Lexington, NC, passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 11, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Born on March 31, 1928, in Ohio, Elouise was the daughter of the late Clarence Earl Stein and Helen Lucille Hickman Stein. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dorman and Bobby Stein, and her sister, Laurabelle Jacobs.

Elouise retired from PPG Industries. Outside of work, she found joy in sewing, a craft that brought beauty and comfort to those around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Hager Ward Arnett, of the home; her loving daughter, Becki Smith; three cherished grandchildren—Randall Smith, Kendall Smith (Tara), and Wendall Smith; and two great-grandsons who brought light to her later years, Corbyn “Little Man” Smith and Mayson “Shorty” Smith.

There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Elouise will be remembered for her quiet strength, kind spirit, and the love she gave so freely to her family.
